My fiance Greg and I met at the unlikeliest of places, the Horseshoe Lounge in Austin, TX. We actually met about 6 years before we started dating and it was his shuffleboard skills that drew me in. That and his cute smile :) We found out after we started dating that we each had always had a crush on the other, but for some reason it just wasn't our time.
We ran into each other again at a mutual friend's band's show at the Saxon Pub in about March of 2008, and Greg had recently gone through a breakup. But I wasn't about to let him slip away again so I took his phone, put my number in it, and texted him the next day to make sure he knew he had it. We hung out as friends for the next couple of months and then on Memorial Day weekend, he kissed me. And we've been together ever since.
We're a good match in that we have similar interests, definitely similar senses of humor (goofy) but also complement each other well. He reminds me to slow down and take it easy sometimes, which I definitely need.
I'm so excited to be marrying him this fall :)
