My life has been a journey full of numerous twists and turns but full of lessons learned. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 22 turned into the challenge of my life. I found myself in a wheelchair 1 year after diagnosis and unable to take on the simplest tasks (feeding myself, brushing my teeth). The journey continued with strong doses of chemo therapy for a year and a half and aggressive physical therapy to learn how to walk again. I felt hopeless and that I was a liablility to my family and friends. Today, 15 years later, I'm doing very well thanks to advances in medication and a great support system (friends, family, neurologist).
My biggest champion has been my very best friend Rachelle. She is the first person I call when I'm having a bad day. She has never thought of me as a liability and always offers her support. I'm giving her this heart to show her how much I love her and appreciate everything she does for me. She is beautiful inside and out and is a great Mom, friend, and wife. She is my sister. Thank you Chelle! Love ya, Anne
