Dear Nancy,

I have found that finding true friends as an adult is not nearly as easy as it is when we are children or teens. The nature of friendships is to ebb and flow, but it is the rare connection that stays constant as we age and traverse our life paths. We are blessed if we make even one friend like that in each place we work or study or spend time outside of family.

Like my dear friend Zane, who sent me this heart, I was lucky to have found you as a colleague and friend to rely on in a less than ideal work environment initally. That instant connection evolved into so much more than a "work buddy." No matter the distance or time that goes by between visits, our friendship brings me great comfort and you will always be close to my heart.

Things are difficult now, but stay strong, you are doing the right thing. You deserve much more and I know great blessings are in store. Love, Karen
