Kari's story

HEART NUMBER: 628

Kari in Juneau, AK, USA
Dear Sandy,

When I received this heart and understood what it was all about, I knew IMMEDIATELY who I would send it on to. You are one of the few, close friends I have who has been with me from the beginning of my adulthood. We have shared a lot, some good and some bad over the years. When we first became friends, you were dealing with a struggling marriage and had a young child. Despite our differences, we hit off and I was lucky enough to see your personal life improve greatly. It has been a privilege to be there to see your relationship with Marty from the start and for you to be there to watch Pat and I grow together.

You are one of those friends with whom I always feel close to, despite the time and distance between us. We have laughed a lot over the years and it has been a blessing to see your faith develop more over those years as well. I still remember giving you some Amy Grant songs when you were having a hard time.

In this often frantic life, we don't take much time to tell the people around us of their positive impact in our life. Receiving this was humbling and touching. I don't typically have a lot of close friends but for me it isn't about the quantity but the quality of those relationships. I am lucky to have both you and Teresa to share the journey with. I am blessed to be loved for me and to not feel like I have to prove myself.

I hope you know the special place you hold in my heart and I will always be here for you. You have enriched my life; I love you.

I place this heart (and mine) in your hands, as a symbol of my love and respect. I hope you will remember my sentiments long after the heart has moved on. Whoever you choose to send this on to, they will be in good company. Peg, Teresa, and now you are all loving and compassionate people who make our world a better place.

Peace,

Kari
