You are here perhaps to purchase hearts and begin sharing in the spirit of connection. Maybe you have received a heart as a gift recently. In either case, we are so very delighted to be sharing in this goodwill movement with you.

Below we have outlined the steps you may want to take while on the site.

Sharing Your Heart Story
We invite you to share your unique and individual stories of your heart number as a reminder of just how connected we all are. All hearts are individually numbered, allowing you to literally track its journeys around the world. Your stories will be posted on the site and directly linked to the special heart number(s) you have. If and when you decide to pass your heart forward as a gesture of love, the recipient has the ability to do the same, and so on. We really do support this form of re-gifting, and even highly encourage it!

There are 2 ways to share your heart story. Both require registering to the site:

1. Create an account by clicking the “NEW USER: REGISTER” button located on the left side of each site page. You will be asked for a username, password, your name, email and location. The location helps determine a spot for you on our Google map. We will explain more about that in a moment.
2. You can also click the “SHARE YOUR HEART STORY” button on the left hand side of the site. You will be asked to either register a new account or login your current account information as listed above.

You can only share a heart story with us if you register an account and accept our Terms of Condition policy.

The Heart is Hot site allows you to enter a single heart story or multiple heart stories at once. For instance, if you gave 500 hearts out as a hostess gift at a party, you could create one story for all of those hearts explaining their significance and why you chose to give them out at your party.

Tracking hearts
On the left side of the site, you will find a button saying "FOLLOW A HEART", with the word track next to it. This function allows you to enter any heart number to see how many times the heart has been passed forward by reading all the stories attached to that particular heart number. You will also see a Google map of the places this heart has traveled. This is again why it is important that we have your location when registering an account.

Your Member Login Area
Once you have registered on the site, you will have your very own Member Area Page. This is the place where all the heart stories you write will be kept in case you want to refer back to them. This area also allows you to upload a photo of yourself that will be used each time you write a heart story. We look forward to seeing you!

You have the ability to change your email address here as well as your password for the site. While logged in to the site, you will see a button on the left hand side of the page called “YOUR MEMBER AREA”. You can easily access the member page from this button and logout from your member area page when complete with the site.

Love It Clicks
"Love it" options are found when reading any heart stories attached to any heart numbers. Perhaps a story really grabs you for a particular reason or you just really appreciate the words someone has shared. You have the opportunity to click "LOVE IT" at the end of the story. This click does two things:

1. The story attached to the click will be stored on your Member Area Page.
2. Your clicks will assist us in determining what heart stories to feature each month on the site. We want to know what stories grab you, and we want to potentially highlight them for the public in our Featured Stories section each month.

Get Email/RSS updates
This feature is also found under the "LOVE IT" buttons attached to heart stories. These options give you the opportunity to receive an email or RSS update when a new story has been posted for a particular heart number. For example, you can click “RECEIVE EMAIL UPDATE or RSS UPDATE for story 6 of heart number 3". When story 7 is written, you will receive an automatic email update or RSS feed. This allows you to continue to follow your favorite heart numbers around the world!

Google World Map
See the latest place each heart number has been spotted in the world. This gives us a literal visual representation of what it looks like to “follow our hearts” around the world.

Forum
This area is an open arena for our Heart is Hot members to discuss related topics any time, any day. Chat with other HIH members. Connect with each other. Two single moms living in New York may not have even realized they were neighbors until reading each other’s heart stories on the site. One puts out a message on the forum to find the other. They connect….. and now share child sitters! You never know…..!

We intend the forum to be an open, safe arena for our members to share with each other. Please be respectful and kind in your comments and replies, in keeping with the HEART IS HOT spirit. We gently but firmly request that this forum remains a positive place.
